Diamond Rings - Wait & See

Catchy new, old-school sounding stuff. There's just something about John O's music that takes me back to my Junior High School days when 'alternative' music was sort of gaining popularity. Strange that it would have that effect on me because the Toronto-based Diamond Rings is surprisingly fresh sounding. Have a listen for yourself and YOU be the judge.

The Bravery - Ours

Official Site: The Bravery
While I'm not a Twilight fan (even though I've read all four books in the series as a way to back up the fact that they're just crap), you can't deny how amazing the soundtracks have been. There's just no argument that SOMEONE involved in the Twilight machine actually knew what they were doing when they picked these songs/bands and plopped them onto the albums.
This song in particular is pretty important to yours truly.
During a car ride to the airport, my wife played it for me. Because we're both marathon runners and are always looking for good music to throw into our running playlists, this COMPLETELY fit the bill. For those that're going to sit there and chuck a big 'pshaw' in my direction and fold your arms? Just listen a moment.
Imagine that you're flying across the US. Imagine that when you started running marathons it was just you. Imagine that you inspired others to do something they thought was impossible. Imagine that only a couple of years later you inspired almost 30 people to run a marathon. Imagine that all these people were about to board a small army of planes to follow you across the US. Imagine that all these people joined each to run 13.1 miles to prove they could (one for the very first time). Imagine the memories of that event. Imagine this song as the soundtrack for those memories.
True story.
Enjoy.

Magic Kids - Hey Boy!

Magic Kids Official Site: MySpace/TheMagicKids
For all of you older curmudgeons who're about a generation ahead of me and complain that no one makes music the way they used to when I was a kid? Here's a group you should be interested in. Trust me, I'm COMPLETELY aware of some of you already blurting out negative comments because 'they're just dumb teenagers' or 'they'll never be as good as (insert band here)'.
People! Nostalgic sound is a powerful tool. NOTHING is EVER going to recapture the sounds of your youth. Ever.
However, this band might just make you feel a little young again.
Enjoy the new nostalgia!

Back Street Boys - I Want It That Way (but it's not what you think)

No matter what sour mood I'm in? This video always makes me realize just how insignificant a lot of what we do actually is. Our lives should be comprised of moments like this. Every. Day.
Enjoy, take care, see if you can make something like this happen and then a link to the results so we can all see it!

The Section Quartet - The Man Who Sold The World

The Section Quartet has been around sporadically for over a decade now.
I'm a big fan of interesting and unique covers. The Section Quartet is a band that just does that. Here's their cover of Nirvana's The Man Who Sold the World.

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass

Back with a mission, I'd almost all but forgotten about keeping peoples' ears fed!
Shame on me.
Because I tend to post music or noise based on what's currently happening in my life, here's an older song that always seems to just get the gears going for me.
I won't bother putting down band information or a big story about this song. Just know that at this moment I'm reorganizing my various blogs, youtube channels, assorted digital ephemera and even my physical self with a vengeance.
This song is just a good starter-block of a song to get you going.
Enjoy!
